Camps Bay (2 blocks from our studio) |
Cape Town is a beautiful city on the southern coast of Africa. Very touristy destination. It has the beaches the V&A Waterfront and of course Table Mountain. You can also get to some very nice spots and there only a small driving distance away, like the winelands, boulder beach, where the only S. African penguins are and Cape of Good Hope, the southernmost point in Africa.
We decide to visit Table Mountain. Leti wanted to climb it up and I wanted to descend it. We agreed the descent would be less tiring than the ascent. Little did we know how strenuous it would be! I’m writing this a week later and I’m still sore. But the pics are amazing.

Lion's Head from Table Mountain Can you see the clouds covering it? |
This is the mountain we'll be climbing tomorrow

First steps up to Lion's Head |
The weather report was rain in Cape Town for the next 2 days. It is not recommended to climb any mountain during the rain. But we still had one more mountain to climb, Lions Head. We were not going to leave Cape Town without climbing it. After our little sightseeing tour we went out to Lions Head. Extremely soar, we thought now or never. Getting to the top of Lions Head was described as an easy walk, what the description did not say was, when the steps finished you will need to climb on rocks and trees to get to the top. If we weren’t so sore it probably wouldn't have bothered us but, we did it anyways and the pics were worth it.
The climb wasn't that bad because you’re looking up to the top, the descent was another story. Coming down front the top was a lot tougher. Getting on your butt and trying to reach the next rock down without going over, now that was an adventure.

Climb to the top require ladders, chains and steps embedded in the rock |
